Roller derby history:
Philly Roller Derby, 2016
I originally skated for Susquehanna Valley Derby Vixens in Williamsport, PA. I joined after going to a bout to see my coworker play. I was immediately hooked! I played for about two years, with time off in between for a knee injury. I moved to Philadelphia in mid-2014 and I joined Atlantic Coast Roller Girls in January 2015. I skated with them until the league disbanded in May that year and then tried out for the PRD fresh meat program that fall.2012
Worst injury to date:
Nothing exciting (just a bad knee from a fall).
Proudest derby moment to date:
Just the relationships I have built through derby. I am a very introverted person and it takes a lot for me to put myself out there, but I'm so glad I did.
Pre/post bout rituals:
I have a Riot Grrrl playlist to get pumped up before a bout and I absolutely have to listen to Bikini Kill's "Rebel Girl."
When not on the track, where can we expect to find you?
At a bookstore! I really like The Last Word in West Philly and Bookhaven on Fairmount.
The superhero I most identify with is:
Batgirl/Oracle! People constantly underestimate Barbara Gordon and she always proves them wrong.
