Rock Out for Knockout

In roller derby, a sport heavy with monikers, Danecia Berrian was “Nina Knockout,” a blocker who could throw punishing checks. A Temple grad, fourth grade teacher and a former standout Liberty Belles roller-derby skater, Berrian retired from the sport after having her first child.

We are using this show as an opportunity to raise funds for Nina and her one-year old baby who are now out of the hospital after suffering a brutal attack in their Philadelphia home on July 25th. Despite having received multiple stab wounds, we are so grateful that Danecia and her baby are recovering at home.

In addition to ticket proceeds, donations will also be collected to help ease what will be a long road of healing for Danecia, a beautiful, generous, strong soul who has positively impacted the lives of countless individuals – not only as a skater, but as an elementary school teacher. Her smile is infectious and her spirit will prevail. Any amount helps as we are hoping to off-set recovery expenses for Danecia and her children as they recover from this unspeakable tragedy.

The bands performing who are generously donating their time are:
Chalk & The Beige Americans
The Sideshow Prophets
BILLY BLACK
and Foxtrot & the Get Down
